Mums Angry At K-Pop

Mums Angry At K-Pop

This is just honestly bizarre

When you come across a poster about a K-Pop Forever 'Tribute' act holding a show in Belfast, you wouldn't automatically think it's connected to K-Pop Demon Hunters the animated musical released in 2025, would you?

K-Pop Demon Hunters, released on Netflix, shot off like a rocket, catering to kids and adults alike whom love the K-Pop genre. The hit musical managed to top the billboard charts not long after it's release for 7 consecutive weeks at number 2, but then hit number 1 in October with their well known track 'Golden', along with other very catchy tunes like 'Soda Pop', and 'What It Sounds Like'. There wasn't a day that went by when you didn't hear any references towards the Demon Hunters, every swipe of TikTok would be a trend of people opening their Fizzy Cans at the exact moment of the 'Soda Pop', it was everywhere!

But why are mums angry at K-Pop Forever, well it's simple really! When you look at the poster for the tribute act, the performers are illustrated as cartoon characters, dressed in clothing similar to the type you'd see in the film, so to a little extent in that factor, it can deem as quite misleading. But I'm sorry, personally I can't side with the mums on this one, because as you can clearly read on the poster, it has no mention of 'Demon Hunters' at all, however despite this, mums took their young child ranging from the age of 4 to see the tribute act anyway, thinking that just because the word "K-Pop" was in the title it automatically has something to do with the film, however within arrival, what came up on stage was very different to what would be in a kids film entirely, the demand for refunds were swift indeed.

I'd say let this be a lesson to make sure you do your research before hand, because just like these mums, you don't know what you're getting yourself into.
